The H-2B program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs. H-2B classification may be extended for qualifying employment in increments of up to 1 year each.

Must not have travelled and stay over 2 months on a regular B1/B2 visa within the last 2 years.

Register for IELTS or CELPIP to prove language ability.

Request reference letters from past and present employers on official company letterhead. (this is often slow and must met the conditions below)

Employment experience in an occupation related to client’s proposed occupation in Canada;

The periods of the employment (start date and end date)

The type of employment (permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, or temporary part-time,);

List of client’s responsibilities with the complete name and contact details of the person who signed the employment reference letter.

Request police clearance Certificates for each country in which the applicant and each accompanying family member above 18 years of age stayed more than six months since they turned the age of 18.

Birth certificate

Educational documents: A complete copy of the educational qualifications, diplomas, degrees and transcript of records.

Digital photos.

All stamped pages of passport.

Resume: please make sure the information on the client’s resume is consistent with the information on their reference letter.

Proof of current immigration status (if applicable; i.e. copy of visa and residency card if they are not residing in the country of origin)

A photocopy of marriage certificate (If married)

If in a common-law relationship: fill out and notarize the statutory declaration of common law form.

A photocopy of the information page of their valid passport or travel document which includes:

the passport number; the issuance and expiry dates; client’s photo, name, date and place of birth. Note: If they require a temporary resident visa and their work permit application is approved, they will need to provide the original passport for the visa counterfoil to be issued. Please refer to the responsible visa office for your region.
