Registration Fee

JMD $ 2,500.00

STUDENT REQUIREMENT
  • Full Time Student
  • 18 and up
  • 2.0 GPA and above
  • Completing a minimum of 12 credits
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Associate Degree

Job Selections

You will be granted access to complete your job selection after paying the Non Refundable Commitment Fee.

Cultural Exchange

A few of the states that students normally go are: Wisconsin, Alaska, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, New York, South Carolina, North Carolina etc.

PROGRAM FEES

Please ensure that your program fee is paid when you get the information on your portal. Your program fee helps toward, paying for Work Permit (DS-2019 Form), paying for SEVIS, paying for Insurance (*this fee takes up more than half of the programme fee), paying for US Sponsor completing the process. These are the top frequently ask questions by students who are interested in the program.

How much does the program cost?

The program fee breakdown: Registration Fee $2,500 JMD or $25 USD (depending on the method you wish to pay), Commitment Fee $470.00 due 2 weeks after registration and $1400 for program fee (which includes $200 visa fee) due before getting your DS 2019 form.

Will I make back the money I spend to come on the program?

All applicants can earn back their money on the program but it all depends on each individual’s effort.

How much will I be paid per hour?

STEEP International will only source and recommend jobs that pay at least US$7.25 for non- tipped positions (Please note that wages are also dependent on the state’s minimum wage and the employer- some states have a higher minimum wage than others, for example Massachusetts – $11.00/hr, Alaska-$9.89, Wisconsin $7.25)

Is there an age limit?

Yes there is. Eligible applicants should fall within the 18-28 age range. But if you are over 28 and still fulfill all the other requirements, you can call our office for guidance.

How long can I work for?

The program duration is normally from May – September. Students however normally return in September for classes.

If I already have a visa, do I need another visa?

Certainly. The visa you may already have is classified as a visitor’s visa. Students are not legally able to work on such visas. The program however helps you to gain a J-1 Work Visa which will allow you to legally work for the summer.
